About the Role:
Dogma Dog Care in Smyrna, GA is looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Kennel Manager to join our team! Responsibilities:
- Assist the Kennel Manager in overseeing daily kennel operations and staff supervision
- Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of all dogs in our care
- Coordinate feeding schedules, medication administration, and exercise routines
- Train and mentor kennel staff on animal handling, facility protocols, and customer service
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kennel environment
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their dog's stay, behavior, and any concerns
- Assist with scheduling, boarding reservations, and facility inventory management
Requirements:
- Previous experience in kennel management, veterinary care, or animal boarding
- Strong knowledge of dog behavior, breeds, and basic animal health care
- Leadership or supervisory experience in an animal care or hospitality setting
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments safely
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in an active environment
- CPR/First Aid for pets certification is a plus
