What We Are Looking For

Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking a Plant Mechanic for the Snyder Gas Plant with a hiring range from level 1 - 5 dependent on experience and skill sets. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the plant including maintenance, process, and compression operations. The Snyder Gas Plant employs a multitude of processes which include NGL Recovery and fuel manufacturing. These processes include four amine sweetening units, molecular sieve dehydration, Turbo Expander Unit, various gas and air compression units, and numerous pumps.

The Snyder Gas Plant fleet consists of several slow speed reciprocating gas compressors (Cooper GMVH) The fleet also contains several electric driven Ariel reciprocating compressors, two 5000 HP, one 500 HP, and two 150 HP. The main purpose of these compressors is to compress raw produced gas for further processing. In addition to these raw gas compressors, the Snyder Gas Plant has three 8G825 White Superior driven MW-64 reciprocating propane refrigeration compressors. The Snyder Gas plant is a PSM Facility.

Job Responsibilities

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Operate company vehicles during daily activities.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitoring of facilities to identify operational problems.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform routine maintenance of process and compression equipment.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Shutdown and start-up of equipment (pumps, facilities, equipment, etc.)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide oral and written communication of activities to appropriate personnel.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Interact with contract personnel.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Promote the company鈥檚 EHS philosophy and culture.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform Lockout and Tag-out duties for maintenance work.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Complete appropriate documentation

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Use Maximo to complete Work Orders as needed.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Be a contributing member of the PSM Teams

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Be available for call out during work week or when required.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Manual Labor

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Serve as a Kinder Morgan representative to contract activities.

Working Conditions

  • Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness.
  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Exposure to process, compressors, vessels, and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances.
  • Be available for call-out and overtime.

What You Need

Minimum Position Requirements (Specific experience, skills, knowledge, certifications, licenses, competencies, working conditions)

  • Solid safety and environmental practices
  • Basic math skills
  • Self-starter and high drive for results
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong teamwork
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must maintain a valid driver鈥檚 license, and a driving record satisfactory to the company鈥檚 insurers.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.
  • Must be available to participate 24/7 on-call rotation and be on site within 45 minutes of call outs. (May require working on regular scheduled holidays.)

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge (Above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)

  • Experience in oil and gas operations
  • Experience in gas processing
  • Experience in gas compression maintenance and operations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Educational Requirements (Minimal requirements and any additional education or training that would be helpful)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates or Technical Degree in applicable field preferred
