Position Summary

Universal Electrical Service is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Estimator with a strong commercial electrical background and, ideally, previous field experience. This position combines estimating, project management, client communication, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate electrical estimates, bids, and proposals for commercial projects.
  • Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs from plans and specifications.
  • Review project scope, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and cost projections.
  • Coordinate with customers, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Manage projects from estimating through completion.
  • Review change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Assist with procurement, material pricing, and project forecasting.
  • Maintain strong communication with field leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost issues.

Ideal Candidate

  • 5–7+ years of electrical estimating experience
  • Procore and/or Accubid
  • Strong commercial electrical construction experience
  • Previous field experience strongly preferred — Journeyman, Lead, Foreman, General Foreman, or Superintendent background
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
  • Strong understanding of electrical materials, installation methods, and labor requirements
  • Experience with Bluebeam and estimating/takeoff software
  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction and project sequencing
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
