Description

Spectra Gutter Systems is seeking a skilled and motivated Experienced Lead Machine Operator to oversee the daily operations of a production line while leading and supporting a team of Machine Operators.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, demonstrated leadership abilities, and a proven track record of operating and maintaining industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring production machinery operates safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards for quality, productivity, and team performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and  coordinate a team of Machine Operators to safely and efficiently meet daily production goals.
  • Set up, operate, adjust, and monitor industrial machinery to ensure optimal  performance and product quality.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and support to Machine Operators throughout daily  production activities.
  • Train and  mentor new team members on machine operation, safety procedures, quality expectations, and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and production-process issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure adherence to established timelines and  quality standards.
  • Conduct and  coordinate routine machine inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Identify equipment issues and communicate maintenance or repair needs  appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports related to machine performance, maintenance,  downtime, and production output.
  • Promote and  enforce health and safety regulations and ensure team compliance with  company policies and procedures.
  • Identify  opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational  efficiency.
  • Communicate  production concerns, equipment issues, and improvement opportunities to  management.
  • Lead by example and promote a positive, safe, productive, and team-oriented work  environment.

Requirements

  

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training  preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing,  industrial, or production environment.
  • Previous experience in a Lead Machine Operator, Senior Machine Operator, Team  Lead, or similar leadership role preferred.
  • Strong  mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated  experience operating, setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting industrial production machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Solid  understanding of manufacturing safety standards and procedures
  • Strong  troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent  communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively train, coach, and provide direction to team members.
  • Ability to lead  by example and motivate a team to achieve production goals.
  • Strong  attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to work  independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, nights, and weekends, when required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift  and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a noisy, fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
