As the Special Education Director at New Story Schools, you will lead the academic and instructional vision for your campus, ensuring that all programs meet state standards and deliver exceptional outcomes for students with emotional and developmental needs. You’ll guide teachers and staff in curriculum development, compliance, and behavior management while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and student growth.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred

  • Pennsylvania certification in Special Education or Supervisor of Special Education required

  • Minimum of five years of experience in special education, including four in a leadership or teaching role

  • Strong knowledge of PDE regulations, IEP development, and curriculum design for diverse learners

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee daily school operations and ensure compliance with Department of Education standards

  • Supervise and support teachers in implementing effective instruction and behavioral practices

  • Lead the IEP process, collaborating with staff, families, and districts to ensure student needs are met

  • Manage the school’s academic budget and resources to maintain program quality and sustainability

  • Build strong relationships with families, school districts, and community partners to enhance services
