This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of automated gate systems, access control equipment, and related technologies.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our customers' gate entry and access control systems while contributing to customer satisfaction, long-term relationships, and the continued growth of the company.

Responsibilities
- Provide professional service and customer support during field visits and dispatches.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections on gate operator systems, including motors, gears, photo eyes, sensors, control boards, wiring, and related components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and operational issues affecting gate functionality.
- Troubleshoot automated gate operators, access control systems, intercoms, keypads, card readers, loops, sensors, and associated equipment.
- Replace defective parts and components to restore proper system operation.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs as necessary to maintain or restore gate functionality.
- Identify and resolve issues involving safety devices, photo eyes, sensors, loop detectors, control boards, and communication equipment.
- Manage onsite service, repair, maintenance, testing, and commissioning tasks.
- Maintain accurate records and produce timely, detailed service reports.
- Document processes, repairs, maintenance activities, and recommended corrective actions.
- Operate company vehicles safely and utilize field service automation tools and software.
- Follow all company field procedures, safety standards, and operational protocols.
- Collaborate with technical teams and share information across the organization to ensure effective service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding system conditions, completed repairs, and recommended maintenance.
- Recommend equipment upgrades and modernization opportunities that improve system performance and reliability.
- Educate customers on available gate operator systems, access control solutions, and automation options that best fit their operational needs.
- Explain the features, benefits, and functionality of all gate and access control systems offered by the company.
- Build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with customers.
What We're Looking For

- Valid driver's license with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience and a clean driving record.
- Proven field service, maintenance, or repair experience with automated gate systems, access control systems, or related equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to diagnose, test, repair, and maintain technical equipment and control systems.
- Experience working with low-voltage wiring, sensors, motors, relays, and control boards.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing automated gate operators and access control systems.
- Knowledge of access control platforms, intercom systems, card reader technologies, and gate automation products.
- Familiarity with safety standards and industry best practices related to automated gate systems.
- Technical certifications or manufacturer certifications are a plus.
