We are now hiring for a Residential Project Consultant to meet with homeowners at scheduled appointments throughout the Kansas City area, with a daily commute to our office in Johnson County, KS. This position requires you to drive a company vehicle and is designed for someone who enjoys working with people, learning a specialized trade, and helping homeowners make informed decisions about meaningful projects in their homes.
This is an in-home residential sales position with company-provided appointments—no cold calling, door knocking, or purchasing your own leads. Since Full Service Chimney is a locally owned and well-established company, customers contact us for help evaluating, repairing, restoring, or improving their fireplace or chimney system.
You'll combine technical knowledge with professional in-home consultations to inspect systems, explain findings, develop solutions, present proposals, and help homeowners confidently decide how they would like to move forward. Internally, we call our Sales Consultants "Concierges" because their role extends beyond presenting a proposal—they guide homeowners through the entire decision-making process.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday; daily hours may vary based on scheduled homeowner appointments

- No cold calling or door knocking
- No purchased leads
- Established local company and reputation
- Paid technical training
- Opportunity to earn industry certifications
- Consultative rather than transactional sales
- Projects ranging from routine repairs to substantial home improvements
The role is comparable to working as a consultant in high-end remodeling, custom cabinetry, windows and doors, or other residential improvement industries where technical knowledge, professionalism, trust, and communication are just as important as sales ability.
What the Position Looks LikeMost days are spent meeting with homeowners at scheduled appointments throughout the Kansas City area. Most appointments begin with a paid inspection or evaluation requested by the homeowner.
You will inspect fireplace and chimney systems, photograph and document conditions, discuss what the homeowner is hoping to accomplish, and explain the options available when repairs or improvements are needed.
Projects can range from routine service and smaller repairs to significant fireplace renovations, chimney and fireplace restoration, liner systems, masonry projects, and other substantial home improvements.
The goal is to become knowledgeable enough to help homeowners understand:
- The type of system they currently have
- What condition it is in
- What needs attention
- What options are available
- The differences between those options
- What solution makes the most sense for their home
You'll then prepare and present those options and help the homeowner determine how they would like to move forward.
We Will Teach You the TradePrevious fireplace or chimney experience is neither required nor expected.

- Chimney liners
- Crowns and waterproofing systems
- Flashing and exterior components
- Fireplace installations
- Scaffolding and jobsite setup
- Tools, equipment, and safety
- The repair methods our crews perform in the field
We believe someone representing our work should understand how the work is actually performed.
Following initial training, you will work alongside our Sales Manager as an assistant. You'll participate in real customer appointments, periodically assist our repair/install division, continue technical and inspection training, and study toward industry certification.
As your knowledge and confidence develop, you'll gradually take responsibility for more of the appointment until you're prepared to manage consultations independently.
