SUMMARY
About the RoleÂ
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team, supporting both External Financial Reporting and Benefits Accounting. This role plays a key part in preparing the company's SEC filings and quarterly earnings materials, while also owning benefits-related accounting responsibilities including stock-based compensation and deferred compensation plans, pension plans, group health and self-insurance reserves. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to broaden their exposure to SEC reporting, technical accounting, and cross-functional collaboration within a large corporate environment.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
External Financial ReportingÂ
Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, and support ad hoc filings such as Forms 8-K, S-3, and S-4Â
Support preparation of quarterly earnings releases and internal executive financial reporting packagesÂ
Perform iXBRL research and tagging, ensuring SEC filings are properly codedÂ
Compile and maintain supporting documentation to ensure all external financial reports are accurate, well-documented, tied out, and audit-readyÂ
Prepare required monthly, quarterly, and annual government census/survey filings, coordinating with plant locations to meet reporting deadlinesÂ
Respond to ad hoc requests from other Finance & Accounting departmentsÂ
Benefits & Equity AccountingÂ
Support accounting for benefit plans, including stock-based compensation, deferred compensation, and pension plansÂ
Assist with group health and self-insurance reserve calculationsÂ
Perform treasury stock reconciliationsÂ
 Controls & CollaborationÂ
Understand and apply SOX 404 requirements; execute and document internal controls related to assigned areasÂ
Partner with internal departments and external contacts — including consultants, actuaries, benefit plan administrators, and auditors — to ensure accurate and timely reportingÂ
Build strong working relationships across the organization while reflecting the company's core valuesÂ
REQUIREMENTS
EducationÂ
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field requiredÂ
ExperienceÂ
3+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience strongly preferredÂ
CertificationsÂ
CPA or active pursuit of CPA license preferredÂ
Skills & CompetenciesÂ
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirementsÂ
Solid understanding of internal controls and SOX 404 complianceÂ
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsÂ
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work cross-functionally with business partners across the organization and consultants, actuaries, and auditorsÂ
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Workiva) a plusÂ
