We’re looking for a Safety Specialist who is hands-on, proactive, and confident working alongside employees in our manufacturing shop, field operations, and offices. This role will help strengthen CMC’s safety culture through inspections, training, incident investigations, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
If you’re someone who sees a hazard and takes action, communicates well with people at every level, and takes ownership of doing things the right way, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and walkthroughs across manufacturing and field locations.
- Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and at-risk behaviors and ensure corrective actions are documented and followed through.
- Perform random field trailer inspections for safety, housekeeping, storage, and compliance.
- Assist with incident and accident investigations, including employee interviews, documentation, photographs, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate and track Toolbox Talks and safety training.
- Support training programs related to OSHA compliance, industrial safety, respiratory protection, PPE, and other safety requirements.
- Conduct safety check-ins with new employees to reinforce safety expectations and gather feedback.
- Maintain first-aid supplies, AEDs, fire extinguishers, PPE, and other safety resources.
- Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and incident files.
- Track safety metrics and assist with OSHA, insurance, and internal compliance requirements.
- Support safety improvement projects, including shop-floor markings, hazard identification, seasonal safety campaigns, and process improvements.
- Travel between CMC locations to provide safety support and maintain a visible presence where work is happening.
- Partner with Production, Field Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Leadership to continuously improve safety performance.
