Passumpsic Bank is looking for a driven and mission-minded early-career professional to launch their career in sustainability and community development. As the Sustainability & Community Reinvestment Associate, you'll support the bank's efforts to invest in underserved communities, promote environmental responsibility, integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, and ensure compliance with the federal Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a self-directed environment, is eager to learn, and is ready to make a real impact.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support CRA compliance , including data gathering, documentation, and preparation for audits and regulatory exams.

  • Build and maintain relationships with local nonprofits, community organizations, and affordable housing providers.

  • Assist in managing community development loans and investments to ensure alignment with CRA credit criteria.

  • Research market and community needs, with a focus on low- and moderate-income (LMI) areas.

  • Develop and contribute to initiatives that reduce the bank’s environmental footprint (e.g., energy use, paper reduction, recycling, green buildings).

  • Develop and track sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) metrics , aligned with bank goals.

  • Collaborate across departments to integrate ESG considerations into lending, procurement, and operations.

  • Research and support development of green lending programs, such as solar loans or energy-efficient home financing.

  • Represent the bank at local community events, workshops, and sustainability and/or volunteer initiatives.

Help coordinate employee volunteerism and CRA-qualifying outreach initiatives tied to community and environmental impact.
