Assistant Store Manager
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 40 hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

About the Role
What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Development
- Assist with training, coaching, and supervising store staff
- Provide leadership and guidance during daily operations
- Support employee development and promote a positive team culture
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and operational planning
- Help ensure policies and procedures are consistently followed
Store Operations & Sales
- Support the implementation of strategies to achieve production and sales goals
- Assist in managing day-to-day store operations
- Monitor store performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Help maintain appropriate inventory flow and merchandise availability
- Support loss prevention efforts and product control procedures to minimize shrinkage
Store Appearance & Safety
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, safe, and customer-ready
- Assist in maintaining attractive merchandising and displays
- Support compliance with OSHA regulations and Salvation Army safety policies
- Monitor facility conditions and communicate maintenance needs
Customer Experience & Community Relations
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping environment
- Support customer retention and community engagement initiatives
- Address customer concerns professionally and effectively
- Represent The Salvation Army positively in the community
- Support and uphold The Salvation Army's mission and values
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with banking procedures and daily financial processes
- Maintain operational records and required documentation
- Provide information for employee evaluations and corrective actions
- Communicate regularly with the Store Manager regarding store operations
- Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications
Required Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Preferred Experience
- Retail leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred
- Experience in customer service, merchandising, sales, or store operations
- Cash handling, banking, and inventory management experience preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and solve problems effectively

- Basic computer proficiency, including Point of Sale (POS) systems

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting
- Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work in a retail environment with moderate noise levels
- Exposure to seasonal temperature fluctuations and dusty conditions
