4-Day Workweek | 10-Hour Shifts

Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to help maintain accurate inventory and ensure materials move efficiently throughout our manufacturing operation.

This position offers a 4-day workweek with four 10-hour days giving you a consistent three-day weekend. Van-Am also offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

The Inventory Control Specialist works closely with Shipping & Receiving, Production, Quality, and Purchasing to maintain material availability, inventory accuracy, and proper system transactions. This position combines computer-based inventory control with hands-on activity on the manufacturing floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage material movement from receiving through work-in-process and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and transactions in our ERP/MRP system; Van-Am uses Epicor.
  • Perform cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory to system records.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and help implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, identified, stored, and located.
  • Maintain organization and control of raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
  • Accurately process inventory transfers, adjustments, and other transactions.
  • Maintain records supporting inventory accuracy, traceability, and ISO/AS9100 requirements.

What We Are Looking For

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably 2–5 years of inventory control or material handling experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP/MRP systems is required; Epicor experience is preferred.

Successful candidates will be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable using Microsoft Excel and computer systems, and able to independently investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Experience in metal manufacturing, aerospace, defense, ISO 9001, or AS9100 environments is a plus.

This position requires frequent walking and standing throughout the facility and the ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
