Donation Processing Associate
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: 25 hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

About the Role
What You'll Do
Donation Receiving & Processing
- Greet donors and provide exceptional customer service
- Assist donors with unloading and accepting donations
- Accurately process and track donated items
- Inspect donations and identify acceptable materials
- Safeguard all donated goods and assigned equipment
- Educate donors on donation guidelines and available services
Production & Operations
- Sort, categorize, and process donated merchandise according to Salvation Army standards
- Power sort donations as received, where applicable
- Support production goals and processing standards
- Load and unload Salvation Army trucks in accordance with center policy
- Assist with moving merchandise and materials throughout the facility
Safety & Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe donation area
- Follow company policies and safety procedures
- Report complaints, injuries, equipment issues, or property damage promptly
- Assist with maintaining an efficient donation flow and processing area
Training Provided
- Paid training on donation procedures and production standards
- Hands-on instruction for donation processing and merchandise handling
- Ongoing coaching and support from store leadership
- Opportunities to develop customer service, retail, and warehouse skills

Qualifications
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
- Basic organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Customer service experience
- Retail, warehouse, production, donation center, or material handling experience preferred
- Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to move larger items with assistance when needed
- Work in varying temperatures and conditions common to warehouse and donation center environments
