What this role is all about
At Sonesta, unforgettable events start long before guests arrive ā and our Banquet House Persons help bring those experiences to life behind the scenes. As a Banquet House Person, youāll play a key role in setting up, maintaining, and breaking down banquet and event spaces for meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events across the hotel.

What youāll be doing
What youāll be doingĀ
Set up and break down banquet rooms, meeting spaces, conference areas, buffets, stages, dance floors, and event equipment according to banquet event orders (BEOs) and hotel standards.Ā
Arrange tables, chairs, linens, staging, audiovisual equipment, and event setups accurately and efficiently for meetings, weddings, conferences, and special events.Ā
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards across banquet spaces, storage rooms, hallways, and back-of-house event areas.Ā
Assist with room resets, event transitions, and operational changes throughout banquet service periods.Ā
Support banquet operations by replenishing supplies, maintaining event readiness, and assisting Banquet Servers and leadership teams as needed.Ā
Operate banquet equipment safely including carts, dollies, staging equipment, tables, chairs, and setup tools.Ā
Follow hotel safety procedures, operational guidelines, and event setup standards at all times.Ā
Assist with inventory organization, storage management, and transportation of banquet equipment and supplies throughout the property.Ā
Partner closely with Banquets, Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering, and Operations teams to support smooth event execution.Ā
Respond quickly and professionally to operational requests and last-minute setup adjustments during events.Ā
Help foster a collaborative, energetic, and guest-focused culture aligned with Sonestaās People People philosophy.Ā
Any other duties as assigned.Ā

What great looks likeĀ
Previous banquet, hospitality, hotel, event setup, housekeeping, warehouse, facilities, or operational experience preferred.Ā
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality and events environment.Ā
Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.Ā
Strong attention to detail with a focus on room setup accuracy, cleanliness, and operational readiness.Ā
Ability to multitask and adapt quickly during high-volume events and changing operational needs.Ā
Knowledge of banquet setup styles, event operations, and hotel banquet procedures preferred.Ā
Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to support the team wherever needed.Ā
Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night event support as needed.Ā
A passion for hospitality, teamwork, operational excellence, and creating memorable event experiences behind the scenes.Ā
