Position Summary
The Team Lead Charge Nurse provides clinical and operational leadership for the unit during assigned shifts. Working under the direction of the Nurse Manager, this role coordinates daily operations, supports staff, serves as a clinical resource, and provides direct patient care as needed.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses looking to grow into a leadership role.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills
About Units 6400 & 6500
Units 6400 and 6500 are combined Trauma, Geriatric Trauma, and Acute Care Surgery units with 63 total beds. Nurses on these units care for a diverse patient population while developing expertise in trauma and acute surgical care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Overview

The Surgical Services Department provides pre-op and post-op inpatient care to those patients undergoing specialty surgical procedures in the areas of abdominal solid organ transplant, vascular surgery, hepatobiliary, trauma, ear-nose and throat, orthopedic, colo-rectal, urology and other general surgical procedures.¿ Inpatient care in this department focuses on pre-op needs, post-op care and treatment after phase I recovery through discharge from an inpatient nursing division. The department's surgical observation unit and ICU provide intensive care and treatment to those post-op or post-traumatic patients whose condition requires treatment at this level.

Under the direction of manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process of assigned unit as needed.
