Under general supervision, performs entry and interpretation of information into GIS or CAD software and related equipment. 

Essential Functions: 

GIS:
Using industry standard GIS software and equipment, analyze, input, develop and maintain an Engineering Construction Database using complex Engineering Drawings and associated data from a variety of Engineering, Surveying, and other sources. Prepare and present drawings, maps, charts, and analytical reports from this database as requested by District personnel. Organize, maintain, track, archive and restore data files as needed. Communicate with Engineers on data analysis, data processing and report generation issues. Develop simple software customization as required. Occasionally visit field to observe and record actual field and construction conditions.

DESGIN: 
Using industry standard CAD and office software and equipment, and data from a variety of sources, create and modify Civil Engineering or survey drawings, specifications and exhibits; perform calculations and prepare maps; produce drawings and data for input into an Engineering Construction Database and GIS. Utilize maps and data from the GIS to prepare plans, exhibits and customized maps. Assist in coordinating and scheduling work load. Organize, maintain, track, and restore files as needed. Occasionally visit field to observe and record actual field and construction conditions.

SURVEY:
Using industry standard CAD software and equipment, and data from a variety of sources, create and modify Civil Engineering or survey drawings and exhibits; perform calculations and prepare maps; produce drawings and data for input into an Engineering Construction Database and GIS. Utilize maps and data from the GIS to prepare plans, exhibits and customized maps. Be familiar with GPS and other survey equipment and have some survey field experience to fill in and/or assist the field crews when needed. Assist in coordinating and scheduling work load. Organize, maintain, track, and restore files as needed.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT:
Using industry standard CAD and office software and equipment along with working inside the Accela software to provide a review and approval of submitted As built plans from private development projects. Capital Construction project as built plans are also reviewed to provide final payment measurements for Construction Management. Communicate with Engineers on data analysis, data processing and report generation issues. Coordination with GIS so that Approved as built plans are placed on properly on the MSD basemap. Assist in coordinating and scheduling workload. Organize, maintain, track, and restore files as needed.
