Regions Hospital is looking for a Controlled Substance Analyst.

The controlled Substance analyst position will be mandatory member of the Controlled Substance Steering Committee and Medication Safety Committee to provide analysis of the Controlled Substance Monitoring and Diversion Prevention Program, and to refine process improvement initiatives. You will hold key role tasked with all aspects regarding drug diversion investigations, compilation of data, maintenance of all records, and reports suspicious activity based on skilled analysis to ensure protocol compliance, and patient safety.

This position is responsible for:

  • Coordinates the monitoring of controlled substances for diversion prevention and detection at Regions Hospital. 
  • Analyzes patterns while providing oversight and direction for daily operations. 
  • Provides analytical and technical support for the compliance, quality and safety initiatives within Regions Hospital. 
  • Coordinates audits and training related to quality and compliance standards, analyzes trends, and prepares corresponding reports. 
  • Assists and directs both the Nursing and Pharmacy section leadership in organizing and communicating quality initiatives, within and outside the department, including organizing and developing educational information, facilitating presentations, and medication management compliance. 
  • Audits and adjusts billing discrepancies. 

 

Work Schedule: FTE: 1.0, Monday-Fridays-Day Shift

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: 

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician registered with the Mn Board of Pharmacy

  • Bachelor’s degree

 

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience, working full time, in a hospital, or healthcare system pharmacy.

  • At least two years of experience in healthcare data management, analysis, presentation and interpretation.

 

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.

  • Current certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience:

  • 4-5 years of experience, working full time, in a hospital, or healthcare system pharmacy.
  • 3-4 years of experience in health care data management, analysis, presentation, and interpretation.
