The Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Program Instructor serves as a classroom and practical instructor for the program. The Northeastern Junior College Commercial Driver License Program instructs and develops students to pass the Colorado Class A and Class B exams to become a commercial driver with job opportunities. The instruction includes manual and automatic transmission vehicles performing driving, backing, yard skills, pre-trips and all ELDT required material.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

Consulting, developing and providing custom training for Class - A and Class - B. Including but not limited to businesses, municipalities and school districts. Ensuring course rigor produces safe and effective drivers that successfully pass licensing examinations. Maintaining Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards. Supporting marketing efforts and recruitment of students and businesses. Conducting road testing at the NJC road testing facilities.

What You Will Need:

  • Teaching or training experience in education or industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internet-based platforms

What We Require:

  • Current Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a CDL

What We Can Offer:

This is a part-time (0.90 or 234 working days per year) professional appointment. Due to the nature of workforce and custom employer training, this position requires flexibility to teach on weekends, with weekend assignments occurring periodically throughout the year. Weekend availability is an essential job function. Flexibility to provide training or testing during evenings, weekends, and other nontraditional hours should also be expected.

Annual salary is $55,000 - $60,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
