West Coast Magnetics is a fast-growing, close-knit manufacturer specializing in custom electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies for the medical, aerospace, semiconductor, communications, and test & measurement industries. We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support production for our semiconductor processing equipment customers. In this role, you'll bridge the gap between design and the production floor - making sure every job released to production is backed by accurate, current work instructions and bills of materials, and that our documentation stays perfectly aligned with customer requirements.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop mechanical and electro-mechanical sub-systems in SolidWorks, including custom tooling and fixturing to support assembly and disassembly of parts and sub-assemblies
• Perform tolerance and thermal engineering analyses to validate that designs meet customer functional and performance requirements
• Apply CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, and GD&T to solve complex mechanical problems
• Identify design tradeoffs and technical risks, and independently troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal supervision
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, quality, and manufacturing engineers to align on technical interfaces and drive design reviews
• Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation - CAD models, drawings, specifications - with accurate revision control
• Draft and maintain accurate, current work instructions, bills of materials, and inspection checklists for the production floor
• Complete first article inspection (FAIR) reports and packaging specifications in line with customer requirements
• Interface with WCM engineering staff, shop floor employees, and inside sales to keep documentation and production aligned with the latest customer revisions
• Design fixturing using WCM's 3D printers or generate specifications for outside subcontractors
• Consult with Materials Control and Purchasing to source materials for parts and projects
• Create presentations for management and engineering staff, and perform final inspection sign-off with manager or senior inspector approval
• Maintain complete and accurate final folders - work instructions, first article notes, customer specs, test data, and part photos

What You Bring

• Four-year engineering degree from an accredited college or university
• 2+ years of proficiency with SolidWorks (required); experience with electronic components and assemblies is a plus
• Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel
• Ability to work effectively with people across different levels and departments of the organization
• Experience interfacing between an engineering department and customers is a plus
• Experience in a production or manufacturing role within aerospace, medical device, semiconductor processing equipment, or contract manufacturing is preferred

Salary Range: $80,000 to $100,000 Annual
