Who are we looking for as a Lead Medical Assistant?

The Lead Medical Assistant will provide direct oversight to the dermatology clinical team at their assigned location. The ideal Lead Medical Assistant candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multi-task. This position serves as the primary point of contact for concerns related to the day-to-day operations of the clinical side of the practice, working collaboratively with Providers, Medical Assistants, Front Desk staff, Office Managers, and patients.

Lead Medical Assistant Primary Duties:

  • Adhering to our Statement, Credo and Service Goals and Values while always providing exceptional customer service
  • Managing assigned staff to fulfill provider and patient needs, serving as the liaison between clinical staff and providers
  • Monitoring patient flow in real time to ensure lowest possible wait times
  • Ordering and maintaining clinical supplies
  • Evaluating performance of staff members, including coaching and performance management processes
  • Encouraging and supporting process improvements which promote fiscal responsibility and improved patient care
  • Assuming responsibility for patient flow processes and strategizing to improve efficiency
  • Troubleshooting patient and staff issues and ensuring patient satisfaction and complaint resolution
  • Performing Clinical Assistant tasks as needed to ensure excellent patient care
  • Leading team of Medical Assistants to accomplish common tasks in a collegial manner
  • Assisting in the training of new staff as needed
  • Implementing current and updated policies and procedures with clinical staff
  • Ensuring logbooks are up to date and serve as representative for health inspectors
  • Ensuring timely response to all voicemails and other triage
  • Performing monthly quality assessments and ensuring OSHA and Bio-waste policies are followed

 

Lead Medical Assistant Skills and Qualities:

  • Ability to lead a team in a dermatology office effectively
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work well independently while knowing when to seek help
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information and interact telephonically and electronically
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Shift: Full-Time

Experience and Education:

  • High School Degree or equivalent (required)
  • 1-2 years of medical office experience preferred
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in a medical environment (required)
  • Dermatology experience is preferred, not required
