Production and Inventory Support Associate

Department: Production

Location: Wanchese Fish Company Processing Plant

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM (1-hour lunch break), potential for Saturday work

Reports To: Production Manager


About the Role

Wanchese Fish Company is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production and Inventory Support Associate to join our seafood processing team. In this role, you will serve as a critical link between our warehouse inventory and production lines, ensuring that the right product is in the right place at the right time so our team can operate efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport pallets of product to all assigned production lines throughout the facility
  • Issue product to production lines and move product into designated bin locations to maintain floor accuracy
  • Transfer inventory in the company’s system to the appropriate rooms and production lines using a handheld scanner
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of all product inventory on the production floor
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently in a plant environment
  • Communicate proactively with production staff and supervisors regarding inventory status and any supply concerns


  • Qualifications
  • Required:
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire
  • Experience operating a pallet jack (electric or manual)
  • Comfortable using handheld inventory scanning devices or ability to learn quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in a cold and wet environment for the duration of the shift
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented work ethic

 

Preferred (not required):

  • Prior experience in a food processing, manufacturing, or quality control environment.

Familiarity with food safety concepts such as HACCP, GMPs, or SQF/BRC standards.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an active seafood processing plant environment, which is cold and wet. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, including waterproof outerwear, gloves, and non-slip footwear.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking on wet, slippery surfaces throughout the shift.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, and carrying of light materials.
  • Must be able to stand for the majority of a full 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to work in a cold, humid environment (processing areas are maintained at refrigerated temperatures).
  • Must comply with all food safety, GMP, and personal hygiene requirements at all times while on the production floor.
