Job DetailsJob Location: All American Facility Maintenance - Sunrise, FL 33325Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $23.00 - $25.00 HourlyHandyman Technician – Job Description The Handyman Technician is responsible for completing a wide range of commercial maintenance and repair services while following proper client and AFE procedures. Technicians are expected to assess work accurately, communicate findings clearly, document all services, and determine whether repairs can be completed during the initial visit or require a formal quote. Work Order & Check-In Procedures Arrive at the job site 5–10 minutes before the scheduled arrival time. Call the office and client as required to properly check into the work order. Review the complete work order scope and any special instructions before beginning work. Locate and assess all reported issues to determine the necessary repairs. Take clear before photos and upload them into Service Fusion. Enter detailed assessment notes in Service Fusion explaining: The issue found. Location of the issue. Recommended repair. Materials, parts, or equipment required. Once the assessment and documentation are complete, call AFE to relay your findings before proceeding. Inform AFE whether: The repair can be completed while onsite. Additional approval or an NTE increase is required. The work requires materials or equipment that are not currently available. The work will need to be quoted for a return visit. Do not perform additional work or use materials outside the approved scope without authorization. Handyman Repairs & Services Technicians must be capable of completing and/or assessing a variety of commercial handyman repairs, including: Drywall patching and minor wall repairs. Interior and exterior touch-up painting. Ceramic, vinyl, LVT, and other minor flooring/tile repairs. Cove base repairs and replacement. Cabinet and drawer repairs. Register/check-out drawer repairs. Shopping cart and equipment repairs. Furniture assembly and repairs. Door and hardware repairs. Replacing handles, hinges, closers, locks, latches, hooks, brackets, and other hardware. Ceiling tile replacement. Caulking and minor sealing repairs. Minor carpentry and trim repairs. Fixture repairs and adjustments. General store maintenance and cosmetic repairs. Assessments & Quoting Evaluate repairs that cannot be completed during the initial visit. Obtain all information necessary for AFE to prepare an accurate proposal. Take clear photos showing the overall area, damage, measurements, and identifying information. Obtain measurements, quantities, model numbers, manufacturer information, colors, finishes, and other specifications when applicable. Identify the labor, materials, equipment, and access requirements needed to complete the repair. Clearly communicate when specialized equipment, additional technicians, or another trade may be required. Provide enough information so that the office can prepare a quote without requiring an unnecessary second assessment visit. Completion & Checkout Complete approved repairs safely and professionally. Take clear after photos showing the completed work. Upload all required photos and completion documentation into Service Fusion. Enter detailed completion notes describing the work performed and materials used. Clean the work area and remove all job-related debris. Contact the appropriate parties to properly check out of the work order. Immediately communicate any incomplete items, additional deficiencies, or recommended follow-up work to AFE. General Expectations Maintain professional communication with customers, store personnel, office staff, and other technicians. Keep assigned company vehicles clean, organized, and properly stocked. Maintain and care for company tools and equipment. Follow all company safety policies and client-specific requirements. Work independently while knowing when additional direction or approval is required. Troubleshoot problems and use good judgment to determine practical repair solutions. Maintain accurate documentation for every work order from arrival through completion. QualificationsJob Qualifications Minimum 2 years of handyman, facilities maintenance, construction, or related repair experience preferred. Must have working knowledge of drywall repair, patching, painting, tile/flooring repairs, doors, hardware, furniture, fixtures, and general commercial maintenance. Must be able to troubleshoot and assess repairs independently and determine the appropriate course of action. Ability to determine whether work can be completed onsite or requires a quote/return visit. Must be able to accurately obtain measurements, quantities, model numbers, material specifications, and other information needed for quoting. Ability to use common hand and power tools safely and properly. Must be comfortable using a smartphone/tablet to upload photos, enter notes, and manage work orders in Service Fusion or similar software. Must have strong communication skills and be able to clearly explain findings to the office and client. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to travel to multiple customer locations throughout the workday. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, kneel, stand, and work for extended periods. Must be willing to work occasional nights, weekends, overtime, or out-of-town projects as needed. Commercial retail/facilities maintenance experience is a plus.
