As a Senior Machine Operator, you are trusted to own your equipment and play a critical role in producing high-quality packaging solutions while ensuring our equipment operates safely and efficiently. This hands-on position is ideal for individuals with manufacturing experience who enjoy working with machinery, solving problems, and contributing to a fast-paced production environment.

 

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate production equipment according to manufacturing specifications and safety requirements.
• Perform machine startup, shutdown, and changeover activities.
• Monitor machine performance throughout production runs to ensure efficiency and quality.
• Adjust machine settings and operating parameters to optimize performance and reduce downtime.

• Identify and resolve basic equipment issues to maintain continuous production.
• Conduct routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance activities.
• Escalate equipment concerns when additional maintenance support is needed.
• Safely operate electric pallet jacks, roll lifts, and hoists.

• Perform quality inspections in accordance with the Pregis Quality Management System.
• Monitor product quality and make adjustments to maintain production standards.
• Accurately document production output, machine settings, and operational issues.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members during shift handoffs and throughout the production process.

 

What We're Looking For

Required Skills

• Previous machine and equipment operating experience and industrial safety practices.
• Mechanical aptitude, experience with quality inspections, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to follow standardized work instructions and procedures.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and safety mindset.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.
• Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other equipment as required.
