Our Housekeeping team plays an important role in supporting the health, comfort, dignity, and quality of life of Villagers by maintaining clean, safe, and inviting living and community spaces.


Position Purpose

The Housekeeper helps create a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for Villagers, employees, families, and visitors throughout Annandale Village.

This role performs routine and specialized housekeeping duties while following established infection prevention, sanitation, and safety practices. Through attention to detail, dependable service, and respect for the people and spaces within our community, the Housekeeper contributes directly to the health, dignity, comfort, and quality of life of the Villagers we serve.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

Creating Clean and Welcoming Spaces

  • Perform daily housekeeping duties in assigned areas throughout Annandale Village.
  • Clean, sanitize, disinfect, and maintain Villager living spaces, common areas, offices, bathrooms, and other assigned spaces.
  • Clean and care for furnishings, fixtures, windows, mirrors, floors, carpets, walls, and other surfaces using appropriate products, equipment, and procedures.
  • Empty trash and dispose of waste according to established procedures.
  • Follow assigned cleaning schedules and ensure responsibilities are completed thoroughly and timely.
  • Help maintain spaces that are clean, comfortable, attractive, and welcoming for Villagers, employees, families, and visitors.

 

 Supporting Villager Dignity and a Sense of Home

  • Perform housekeeping responsibilities with respect for Villager privacy, preferences, personal belongings, and living spaces.
  • Treat Villagers with kindness, dignity, and respect during every interaction.
  • Protect Villager confidentiality and uphold Villager rights.
  • Be mindful that Villager living spaces are their homes and provide services in a respectful and person-centered manner.
  • Communicate respectfully with Villagers and respond appropriately when housekeeping needs or concerns are identified.


Promoting Health, Safety, and Infection Prevention

  • Follow established infection prevention and control practices, Universal Precautions, sanitation standards, and safety procedures.
  • Use cleaning and disinfecting products according to established procedures and manufacturer instructions.
  • Use appropriate caution and safety signage when cleaning floors or performing work that may create a temporary hazard.
  • Maintain work areas free of hazardous objects and promptly identify and report unsafe conditions. 
  • Properly clean, maintain, and store housekeeping equipment, tools, supplies, and carts.
  • Follow applicable fire, emergency, isolation, and safety procedures.
  • Promptly report accidents, incidents, equipment concerns, maintenance needs, and hazardous conditions to the appropriate leader.
  • Managing Housekeeping Supplies and Equipment
  • Maintain appropriate levels of housekeeping supplies within assigned areas.
  • Monitor supplies and communicate replenishment needs in a timely manner.
  • Use cleaning products, equipment, and organizational resources responsibly.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly.

Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with Facilities, Nursing, Assisted Living, Personal Care Home, Day Programs, Culinary, and other teams to support a clean and welcoming campus.
  • Respond to housekeeping needs and priorities as communicated by department leadership.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with Villagers, employees, families, and visitors.
  • Assist team members and other departments with housekeeping needs when appropriate.
  • Participate in orientation, required training, in-service education, team meetings, and organizational initiatives.


Other Responsibilities

  • Follow Annandale Village policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintain dependable attendance and complete assigned responsibilities according to established schedules.
  • Support organizational events, special cleaning projects, and changing campus needs as assigned.
  • Perform other duties in the best interest of Annandale Village and the Villagers we serve.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to safely use housekeeping equipment, cleaning products, and disinfectants.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
  • Housekeeping, environmental services, healthcare, hospitality, or similar experience preferred.
  • Commitment to providing respectful and dependable service within a person-centered community.


Employment Requirements

  • Must meet age requirements established by Annandale Village for assigned job responsibilities.
  • Valid Georgia Class C Driver's License, proof of insurance, and acceptable MVR
  • Must pass GBI and FBI background checks, including fingerprinting.
  • Must pass drug screening and tuberculosis screening.
  • Must complete required orientation, safety, infection prevention, and other assigned training.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements associated with housekeeping duties.
  • Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and handle cleaning supplies.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to perform work throughout Villager living areas, common spaces, offices, and other campus environments.
  • Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, and emergency response duties if required for the position.
