Foundry Core Maker- 2nd shift

What you’ll do:

•    Plan and perform all required duties to set-up core making machines and produce a variety of shell, isocure, and pepset cores for use in the foundries.  
•    Perform minor repair, adjustments, lubrications, and settings of machines to insure proper operation of the machines as well as, produce a quality part.  
•    Core boxes may need vents added to urethane core boxes and replace existing vents; drill only straight holes on flat surfaces as needed to perform these tasks.  
•    Perform necessary duties to fill sand hoppers as directed or required for machine production and perform core box assembly, prescribed use of rods, or nails for core reinforcement, removal of cores from box.  
•    Clean core and position cores in pan and move cores to designated areas and place on pallets
•    Operate fork truck as required in performance of job duties.  
•    Perform a variety of similar or associated duties as required or directed.  
•    Detect and report all defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision.  Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.  
•    Maintain visual measurements.  
•    Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations. Administer 5 S’s
•    Complete training as assigned

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Syracuse, NY (50 miles) will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Additional educational or vocational training is a plus but not required.

Additional Information:

Physical and Environmental Factors:  
•    Occasional lifting of parts up to 50 pounds.
•    Most parts typically weigh 10 pounds or less.
•    Prolonged standing throughout the shift.
•    Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting to load/unload parts from machines.
•    Repetitive motions involved in placing parts into tubs and removing them.
•    Pushing heavy tubs filled with parts, which can require significant physical effort.
•    Extreme heat environment in summer months.
