We’re looking for a compassionate and dependable Patient Transport Technician to safely transport hospice patients throughout our service area while providing exceptional care and customer service along the way. If you’re someone who enjoys helping others, takes pride in safe driving, and understands that kindness can make all the difference, we’d love to meet you. ️ What You’ll Do As a Patient Transport Technician, you’ll play an important role on our interdisciplinary care team by: Safely transporting hospice patients between homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, assisted living communities, physician offices, and hospice inpatient units. ♿ Assisting patients with wheelchair and stretcher transportation while always prioritizing their comfort, dignity, and safety. Providing compassionate and reassuring support to patients and families throughout the transportation experience. Performing daily vehicle safety inspections and helping maintain a clean, safe, and reliable transport vehicle. Completing required transportation documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Communicating effectively with clinical staff regarding patient needs, concerns, or observed changes in condition. Representing Big Bend Hospice with professionalism, kindness, compassion, and respect in every interaction. ⏰ Schedule 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Full-Time | Days may vary What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid Florida Driver License with a safe driving record. Minimum age of 25 years. ❤️ Ability to obtain or maintain CPR/BLS certification. ️ Ability to successfully complete a Level II background screening (fingerprinting required), drug screening, and motor vehicle record review. Ability to safely assist patients with mobility, transfers, and lifting requirements associated with the position. ⭐ Preferred Qualifications Previous experience transporting patients or working in a healthcare environment. Experience in hospice, home health, or long-term care. CNA or EMT certification. Experience working with older adults or individuals living with serious illness. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position that requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and assisting patients with transfers. Candidates must also be comfortable driving throughout the Big Bend Hospice service area and traveling between patient homes, hospitals, healthcare facilities, and other care settings throughout the workday.
