This is an opportunity to bring your experience, compassion, and understanding of spiritual care into a role where your presence can provide hope, meaning, peace, and connection when it matters most.  About the Role As a Spiritual Care Counselor, you’ll be an integral member of our interdisciplinary hospice team, providing individualized spiritual assessment, counseling, and support to patients, families, caregivers, and staff. You’ll walk alongside individuals as they explore questions of meaning, hope, faith, purpose, and peace, always honoring each person’s unique spiritual journey. This role requires the ability to provide compassionate spiritual care to individuals from diverse religious, spiritual, cultural, and personal belief systems—including those who may not identify with a particular faith tradition.  ✨ Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive spiritual assessments and contribute to individualized plans of care based on each patient and family’s needs, beliefs, and preferences. Provide ongoing spiritual counseling, emotional support, and compassionate presence to patients and families throughout the hospice journey. Coordinate or provide sacramental ministry, rituals, prayer, and faith-specific services as requested by patients and families. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with nurses, social workers, physicians, hospice aides, and other members of the care team. Provide spiritual care consultation, education, and guidance to hospice staff and volunteers. Build and maintain meaningful relationships with local faith communities and community partners, serving as an ambassador for hospice services. ️ Officiate or assist with funerals, memorial services, remembrance ceremonies, and other services as requested. Complete timely and accurate documentation while maintaining organizational and regulatory compliance. Participate in the evening and weekend on-call rotation to ensure spiritual support is available when patients and families need it. Qualifications  Qualifications ✅ Required Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent graduate theological degree from an accredited seminary or theological school. Minimum of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Three or more years of pastoral ministry and/or hospice chaplain experience. Valid Florida Driver’s License. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful, respectful relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and community partners. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage responsibilities independently in a community-based care environment. ⭐ Preferred Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
