About the Opportunity
Looking to start a career in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry? This entry-level opportunity provides hands-on experience supporting the underwriting process and is designed for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
As an Underwriting Support Associate, you will perform a variety of administrative, data entry, documentation, research, and workflow support functions that provide Underwriters with the information they need to properly analyze and evaluate risk.

What You'll Do
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Underwriting team.
- Accurately enter and maintain data in the company’s policy systems.
- Update and maintain department logs to accurately track workflow and outstanding items.
- Communicate with agents to obtain required information, track requests, and follow up as needed.
- Issue policy documents, reports, and other information to agents as required.
- Set up, organize, and maintain policy files in accordance with company procedures.
- Accurately label emails and documents and add detailed notes when appropriate.
- Conduct online research using various websites and tools to gather data needed to support underwriting activities.
- Review information for accuracy and completeness and help ensure tasks are completed within required timelines.
- Answer incoming calls, assist with inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate team member.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with co-workers, management, clients, vendors, agents, and other business partners.
- Follow applicable federal and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Participate in special projects and other departmental initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as needed.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework, advanced training, or a degree is a plus.
- Previous administrative, customer service, data entry, or office experience preferred. Insurance experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based research tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- A customer-service mindset and ability to interact professionally with internal and external contacts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
