What You'll Do

As a Consumer & Mortgage Loan Processor, you'll help ensure loans move efficiently from application through funding while delivering an exceptional member experience.

  • Process consumer, mortgage, and indirect loans from application through closing and funding, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with lending requirements.
  • Assist members with loan applications by gathering information, collecting documentation, answering questions, providing updates, and following up on outstanding items throughout the loan process.
  • Review, verify, and maintain loan, title, lien, insurance, and mortgage documentation to ensure complete and accurate loan files.
  • Prepare loan packages, satisfy loan approval conditions, and coordinate with Loan Officers, underwriters, title companies, dealers, vendors, and other third parties.
  • Process loan closings, disburse approved loans, and complete post-closing activities.
  • Process payoffs, lien releases, mortgage discharges, insurance-related transactions, and other loan servicing activities.
  • Support additional lending functions, including Skip-A-Pays, debt protection claims, and membership account openings.
  • Work cross-functionally with several departments including Member Service, Contact Center, Collections, etc. 
  • Support and back-up the Lending department as needed, and perform other lending-related duties as assigned.

Requirements


What We're Looking For

  • 1-2 years of loan processing, lending, banking, credit union, mortgage, or related financial services experience required.
  • 2 years of customer service experience required.
  • Strong understanding of consumer and mortgage loan documentation and lending procedures.
  • Excellent communication and member service skills with the ability to build rapport and professionally assist members.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple loans and priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Experience with loan origination systems, mortgage processing platforms, and financial software preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Credit union or banking experience strongly preferred.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
