Yourcontribution
As a Regional Sales Manager you are responsible for the development of strategic sales plans for yourregion – Germany, Austrian, German speaking Switzerland. You provide coachingand development to junior sales staff and monitor actual sales performanceagainst sales targets and objectives. You have the drive and motivation toidentify and develop sales opportunities with new and existing customers, evenfor regions you are not responsible.

This is a very independentposition and you carry out most of the tasks yourself. Your focus is ondeveloping and maintaining healthy, positive customer and consortiumrelationships, while providing vital customer feedback to internal KGL Accucomsdepartments. You influence and manage sales strategy, work cooperatively withthe Marketing and Telemarketing departments to plan campaigns, attend exhibits,visit customer sites and coordinate support activities with our Inside SalesRepresentatives.

You will report to the SalesDirector EMEA. 


Responsibilities

  • Bring newbusiness through sales of site licenses to academic, medical and scientificlibraries in the region including consortia and academic/research/corporateinstitutions
  • Identify keysales opportunities and managing sales against target 
  • Taking alead in major Consortia negotiations, Government tenders and large corporatedeals
  • Buildpositive relationships with major purchasing groups
  • Developrobust sales plans and coordinate sales and marketing activity with the otherRegional Sales Managers
  • Developlarger consortia deals, national deals and multi-site corporate opportunities
  • Preparesales reports, gap analyses and regional market updates for internal review andpresentation to clients
  • Proactivelydevelop new ideas to increase sales opportunities across the whole region 
  • Work crossfunctionally to deliver projects
  • Collaboratewith Inside Sales Representative and Project Manager to execute specifictelesales/telemarketing activities to selected accounts as needed
  • Take onprojects as required by senior management

  


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Native/nearnative German: High level ofEnglish is also required. Dutch preferred but not essential.
  • Provensales/account management: Track record of2+ years in selling to academic, government and/or corporate sectors indedicated market with good understanding of the region’s culture
  • Negotiationskills: Demonstrated ability to develop accountsstrategically, explore alternative approaches, and negotiate effectively toachieve mutually beneficial outcomes that gain stakeholder support and buy-in.
  • Sales Acumen:Demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers and drive adoption ofproducts, services, or solutions through effective communication, relationshipbuilding, and consultative selling techniques.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Strongmulticultural awareness with a commitment to understanding customer needs,delivering value, and fostering long-term, productive relationships.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Provenability to build trust, meet customer expectations, and enhance satisfactionand loyalty through exceptional service and ongoing engagement.
  • Communication Skills: Excellentverbal and written communication skills, with the ability to presentinformation clearly and persuasively across a range of audiences and channels.
  • Education: Bachelor’sdegree in Commerce, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalentprofessional experience.
  • Trust and Credibility: Ability toestablish confidence and credibility through ethical conduct, transparency, andconsistent alignment with organizational values.
  • Proactive Approach:Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to takeinitiative, identify opportunities, and drive activities beyond coreresponsibilities to achieve business objectives.
  • Industry Experience: Previousexperience within the publishing, academic, or information services sector isadvantageous.
