Job DetailsJob Location: MRC Support Office in The Woodlands - The Woodlands, TX 77380Methodist Retirement Communities (MRC) is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Director of Philanthropy to lead and grow philanthropic support across our organization. This position is ideal for a strategic fundraiser who understands that philanthropy begins with relationships. The Director of Philanthropy will work closely with donors, residents, families, board members, community leaders, and organizational leadership to strengthen a culture of generosity and advance MRC’s mission of serving senior adults. What You’ll Do Develop and lead a comprehensive philanthropy strategy aligned with MRC’s mission, vision, and organizational priorities Build meaningful, long-term relationships with current and prospective donors throughout Texas Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other funding partners Lead capital campaigns, planned giving initiatives, annual giving efforts, and other fundraising programs Partner with executive leadership, community leaders, and board members to identify philanthropic opportunities and strengthen donor engagement Create compelling cases for support that clearly communicate MRC’s mission, impact, and funding priorities Establish measurable fundraising goals and regularly evaluate progress, outcomes, and return on investment Maintain strong donor records, reporting practices, gift documentation, and compliance with applicable regulations and ethical fundraising standards Represent MRC at donor meetings, community events, and organizational gatherings across the state Strengthen a system-wide culture of philanthropy across MRC’s communities What We’re Looking For Significant experience in philanthropy, fundraising, development, or advancement within a nonprofit organization Demonstrated success securing major gifts and building strong donor relationships Experience leading capital campaigns, planned giving, annual giving, foundation relations, or similar fundraising initiatives Ability to develop and execute a strategic, organization-wide philanthropy plan Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills Ability to connect authentically with donors, residents, families, board members, and community leaders Sound judgment, discretion, professionalism, and a high level of personal integrity Commitment to MRC’s faith-based mission and service to senior adults Bachelor’s degree required Ability to travel up to 50% within Texas Why MRC?
