New Product Development Team Member

 Department: Operations      Reports To: NPD Specialist     Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The New Product Development (NPD) Team Member supports the development, testing, and launch of new products at TekModo. This hands-on position works closely with the NPD Specialist and cross-functional teams to assist with product trials, prototypes, testing, documentation, and the transition of new products into production.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the NPD Specialist with new product development activities, including prototypes, product trials, sample runs, testing, and production launches.
  • Set up and prepare materials, equipment, tooling, and work areas needed for development activities and trials.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment as required to support product development, testing, and sample production.
  • Collect and accurately document trial results, process information, measurements, quality results, and other required data.
  • Assist with troubleshooting product and process concerns and communicate observations, issues, and improvement opportunities to the NPD Specialist.
  • Support adjustments and improvements to materials, processes, tooling, and work methods based on development and trial results.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of work instructions, product specifications, samples, and other NPD documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and other departments during development activities and product launches.
  • Maintain an organized NPD work area and ensure materials, samples, tools, and development records are properly identified and maintained.
  • Follow all TekModo safety, quality, and operational requirements and perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, specifications, and established procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record information and measurements.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools, measuring equipment, and manufacturing equipment as required.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work on multiple development projects.

Employment Requirements

  • Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including a drug screen and background check.
  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Must complete all required safety, equipment, and job-specific training.
  • Must comply with TekModo safety requirements and wear required PPE.
  • Must be willing to support product trials and launches outside normal working hours when business needs require.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
