The Opportunity

Are you an experienced commercial banking professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and helping a team succeed?

F&M is looking for a Lead Commercial Loan Processor to support our commercial banking team while managing an assigned portfolio of client relationships. This is a leadership role that combines commercial loan expertise, customer service, risk management, and team development.

You’ll partner closely with Commercial Relationship Managers (CRMs) and Business Development Officers (BDOs), serve as a resource for Commercial Loan Processors, and help ensure our customers receive a seamless, consultative banking experience.

What You'll Do

Customer & Commercial Banking Support

· Manage and service an assigned portfolio of commercial banking relationships.

· Partner with CRMs and BDOs on loan requests, renewals, financial information, portfolio management, and customer needs.

· Build strong customer relationships and participate in customer calls and meetings.

· Support commercial loan servicing, construction loan disbursements, and Treasury Management onboarding.

· Identify opportunities to connect customers with F&M products and services.

Leadership & Team Support

· Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for Commercial Loan Processors.

· Train, coach, and mentor team members.

· Help coordinate workflow and priorities across the team.

· Assist with complex customer, loan, and operational issues.

· Promote collaboration, accountability, and consistent service.

Risk & Portfolio Management

· Monitor overdrafts, past-due payments, financial reporting, covenants, collateral exceptions, and other portfolio risks.

· Assist with renewals, problem loans, collections, and post-closing activities.

· Ensure loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with F&M policies and regulatory requirements.

· Partner with Loan Operations, Loan Processing, Loan Review, Treasury Management, and other internal teams to resolve issues.

Requirements

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone with commercial banking experience, strong judgment, leadership ability, and a genuine commitment to customer service.

Required:

· Associate degree or equivalent experience.

· 3+ years of related banking or financial services experience.

· 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.

· Understanding of business financials and commercial banking processes.

· Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred:

· Commercial loan processing or commercial banking experience.

· Experience supporting commercial lenders or relationship managers.

· Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.

· Experience training, coaching, or mentoring employees.

· Notary certification or willingness to obtain.
