RandallConstruction is seeking a top-tier Mini Excavator / Machine Operator to join our teamto work on large, commercial Plumbing and Mechanical projects along the SpaceCoast of Florida.
The ideal candidate will safely and efficientlyoperate mini excavators and related heavy equipment on large-scale commercial plumbingand utility projects. This position plays a critical role in trenching,excavation, site preparation, and underground utility installation. Essential Functions:
- Operate mini excavators and other construction equipment safelyand efficiently.
- Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and sitepreparation for plumbing and utility installations.
- Assist crews with installation of underground water, sewer, stormdrain, and utility systems.
- Read and interpret site plans, utility markings, grades, andproject specifications.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issuespromptly.
- Follow all OSHA, company, and project safety requirements.
- Work closely with foremen, project managers, and field crews tomaintain production schedules.
- Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist with labor duties as needed when equipment operation is notrequired.
Qualifications/ Education / Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating mini excavators incommercial construction, utility, or plumbing projects.
- Experience working around underground utilities and trenchingoperations.
- Ability to read construction plans and site layouts.
- Strong understanding of excavation safety and trench protectionrequirements.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
This is primarily a Shop orField Jobsite job. You must be able tolift a dead weight of at least 50 pounds and stand on your feet forseveral hours at a time. Youmust also be able to bend, stretch, crouch, and lift as required bythe job, be able to respond quickly to sounds, see and respond todangerous situations, and properly wear personal protective gear.
