Vylor is seeking Production Agronomy Interns for summer 2027. This internship gives college students hands-on experience in seed production while building the technical, analytical, and professional skills needed for a potential career in the seed industry.

Role Overview

As a Production Agronomy Intern, you will work alongside an Agronomist and other seed production professionals to support the safe, efficient, and effective production of high-quality seed. You will gain practical field experience and contribute to day-to-day operations through responsibilities such as:

  • Supporting seed production operations and field management activities
  • Assisting with crop scouting and integrated pest management (IPM) activities
  • Conducting field trials, research studies, and data collection
  • Evaluating economic injury thresholds and supporting agronomic recommendations
  • Identifying weeds, insects, pests, and crop diseases
  • Monitoring crop development and communicating field observations and progress
  • Collaborating with agronomy, production, and other cross-functional teams

You will also complete a capstone project assigned by your Field Operations Manager. The project will allow you to apply what you learn, strengthen your technical and problem-solving skills, and make a meaningful contribution to Vylor's seed production operations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year degree program in agronomy, agricultural business, agricultural studies, agricultural systems technology, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate across functions
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Basic proficiency with computer applications and the ability to work with data
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced agricultural environment

Preferred

  • Sophomore or junior standing at the time of the internship
  • Demonstrated interest in agriculture, agronomy, seed production, or a related industry
  • Previous internship, field, farm, research, or other hands-on agricultural experience

Work Environment and Other Requirements

  • Ability to work in seed production fields and outdoor environments with exposure to dust, noise, agricultural chemicals, and varying weather conditions, with appropriate training and personal protective equipment
  • Ability to perform the physical responsibilities of the role, including standing, walking on uneven ground, bending, and lifting materials, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness and availability to work extended hours when business needs require, particularly during peak production periods
  • Ability to travel between assigned production locations and company facilities as needed
