Responsible for performing for assisting with the scheduling, staffing, and operational aspects of the ultrasound section in the department. Performs sonographic exams and provides guidance to technological staff in order to ensure a high quality of work. Assists in the orientation and training of newly hired ultrasound staff. Utilizes a variety of equipment including transducers, as well as computers and various software programs to enter patient related information into hospital databases. Contributes to the overall excellence of the department through commitment to personal excellence in technical and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Work required the level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of an accredited program in sonography or an Associate's degree in Ultrasound technology or closely related field and three years of previous work related experience. ARDMS RVT required. Dual Registry preferred (RDMS/RVT). Requires the analytical ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic specific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth experience based knowledge. Requires the ability to explain clinical, technical, and diagnostic procedures to patients and their families

St. Joseph’s Health officially opened the Totowa Health Campus during a special ceremony that included a ribbon cutting and a blessing by the Most Reverend Kevin Sweeney, Bishop of the Diocese of Paterson. More than 100 people attended the event, including Congressman Bill Pascrell, 9th District of New Jersey; John Coiro, Mayor of Totowa; and Senator Kristen Corrado, of New Jersey’s 40th Legislative District.

The new campus, located at 225 Minnisink Road in Totowa, is a 140,000-square-foot facility that integrates a comprehensive listing of outpatient services, including primary and urgent care, diagnostic imaging including MRI and CT, Radiology, Lab Services and Pharmacy all under one roof.  A host of medical and surgical physician offices are located on the campus, including cardiology, urology and gynecology, along with specialty Centers including Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy.  This fall, the health campus will also be the new home of a Comprehensive Cancer Center opening in October.
