Summary Description

The Finishing Associate Trainee must be trained by Finishing Associate or department lead. This role is responsible for repetitive sanding on cabinet components while they are being run through the paint and/or stain line; assisting the offline spray booth operators in organizing, moving and sanding cabinet and trim components. The associate will need to assist in loading and unloading of the cabinet components on and off the paint and stain line.

  • Inspect components for any flaws in finish.
  • Push, pull, and or leverage cabinet components on and off feed lines for paint and /or stain. 
  • Move any cabinet or trim components around the offline area. 
  • Utilize team method when lifting heavy or awkward items. 
  • Efficiently rotating staging carts between work in progress stages, from full to empty station. 
  • Provide regular progress updates to the lead and immediately report any material shortages or nonconforming parts to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a high-standard 5S workspace by performing regular housekeeping, clearing scrap material, and organizing tool layouts to support continuous production flow.
  • Perform routine care on equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, or changing worn accessories with hand tools.
  • Strictly follow all safety guidelines and PPE protocols to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Actively contributes to a high-performance team environment by taking personal ownership of results and supporting cross-functional cooperation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
