Residential Energy Auditor

Join our team, we are looking for Energy Auditors to conduct residential energy audits in northern New Jersey! Combine your expertise in residential energy efficiency with superior customer service to deliver energy savings, comfort solutions, and other recommendations to eligible program participants. In this role, you’ll ensure compliance with program standards and provides actionable recommendations to reduce energy consumption and enjoy a field-based, independent, and work schedule that allows you to experience something new every day!

What you will be doing: 

  • Perform on-site energy audits using diagnostic tools such as blower doors, infrared cameras, and combustion analyzers. 
  • Inspect insulation, HVAC systems, lighting, and appliances for efficiency and safety. 
  • Collect and analyze utility data to determine baseline energy usage. 
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and work orders for contractors with recommendations for energy-saving measures and estimated cost-benefit analysis. 
  • Educate homeowners and property managers on energy efficiency practices and available incentives. 
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal energy codes and program guidelines. 
  • Coordinate with contractors and QA/QC inspectors to verify installation of recommended measures. 

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. 
  • BPI (Building Performance Institute) BA-T and BA-P certification. 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in residential energy auditing or building performance. 
  • Familiarity with building science principles and energy efficiency technologies. 
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for energy modeling. 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory. 

What we would like you to have:

  • BPI (Building Performance Institute) QCI certification. 
  • Strong communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. 
  • Knowledge of utility energy efficiency programs and weatherization standards.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$60,967.00 - $103,643.00
