About this opportunity

The Project Coordinator – Capital Markets will drive key operational initiatives, bridge tech and secondary marketing workflows, and manage end-to-end process development from inception to execution. This role demands exceptional attention to detail and rigorous, proactive follow-up with cross-functional teams to keep projects on track and eliminate roadblocks. You will lead capital markets project testing, make informed execution decisions, maintain seamless alignment across departments to ensure closed-loop communication.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Process Development

o Work with leadership to identify areas for improvement with the department workflow and current process and coordinate update from start to finish.

o Maintain up-to-date, step-by-step Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials for operational teams.

o Identify workflow bottlenecks and build structured rollout plans for new operational procedures.

• Cross-Functional Follow-Up & Alignment

o Maintain continuous follow-up with other departments to ensure project deliverables stay on schedule.

o Serve as the central hub for open project items, tracking dependencies, action items, and timelines with high precision.

o Lead project status meetings, document clear meeting notes, and communicate updates effectively across all stakeholder levels.

• IT Project Testing & QA

o Develop detailed user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts for pricing engines, loan origination systems (LOS), and secondary marketing platforms.

o Execute rigorous end-to-end testing with meticulous attention to edge cases, logging bugs accurately and verifying fixes before release.

o Coordinate integration testing between internal mortgage technology tools and external investor portals.  

• Operational Decision-Making

o Evaluate project risks, scope shifts, and timeline impacts to make confident, well-reasoned operational decisions.

o Prioritize technical feature requests and bug fixes based on revenue impact, risk exposure, and team efficiency.

Location and Schedule

  • This is a full-time, office-based position in a modern, cozy environment in our Troy, MI office.

  • Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of project coordination experience; mortgage industry background required (Secondary Marketing/Capital Markets preferred).

• Core Competencies: Meticulous attention to detail, proactive multi-team follow-up, UAT testing, process mapping, and operational decision-making

• Cross-Functional Communication: Ability to translate complex capital markets concepts and technical IT requirements into clear, actionable language in order to ensure project success. Ability to hold other teams accountable to deadlines.

• Executive & Stakeholder Reporting: Strong verbal and written skills for delivering concise project status reports, risk assessments, decision summaries, and meeting briefings to senior managers.
