Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Troy, Michigan
Salary: $65,000–$70,000 per year, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, predictable weekday hours
About the Position
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to take ownership of daily warehouse and distribution operations at our facility in Troy, Michigan.
This is a full-time working supervisor position for someone who enjoys being on the warehouse floor, leading a team, solving problems, and keeping operations moving. You will play a key role in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, inventory control, picking and packing, material handling, and employee supervision.
The right person will be a confident leader who can make decisions in real time, set clear expectations, monitor productivity, maintain high standards, and address problems before they become larger operational issues. You will lead by example and work alongside the team when necessary rather than managing exclusively from an office.
What You'll Do
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee the daily activities of the warehouse and distribution operation. You will assign work to warehouse associates, monitor productivity and workflow, coordinate shipping and receiving, maintain inventory accuracy, and make sure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
You will supervise warehouse employees and provide direction throughout the workday, while also helping train employees and maintain a productive, professional work environment. When staffing issues, workflow problems, inventory discrepancies, missed targets, or safety concerns arise, you will be expected to take ownership and resolve them quickly.
This is a hands-on role. You will operate forklifts, assist with loading and unloading trucks, move materials, help resolve warehouse bottlenecks, and step in wherever your experience and leadership are needed to keep the operation running efficiently.
Safety and organization are also important parts of the position. You will enforce company safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized warehouse, monitor safe material-handling practices, and hold employees accountable for following established procedures.
You will also work with management on continuous improvement, including warehouse layout, inventory systems, operating procedures, productivity, and workflow. The goal is to build an efficient warehouse operation that consistently meets expectations for safety, accuracy, productivity, and customer service.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who has demonstrated the ability to lead people and manage real-world warehouse operations. You should be comfortable giving direction, making decisions, solving problems, and holding employees accountable while maintaining a professional and respectful workplace.
The minimum experience requirements are at least two years of supervisory or leadership experience in any work environment and at least two years of hands-on warehouse, distribution, logistics, or material-handling experience. These two types of experience do not need to come from the same position or employer.
Forklift operation experience is required, and forklift certification is preferred. Strong basic computer skills are necessary for inventory tracking, reporting, and warehouse management activities. You must also be able to regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds and remain active on your feet throughout the workday.
Experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Lead, Distribution Supervisor, Shipping Supervisor, Receiving Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Inventory Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, or Material Handler with leadership responsibilities is highly relevant to this position.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is $65,000–$70,000 annually, depending on experience and demonstrated leadership ability.
Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days, a 401(k) with company match after one year, and tuition assistance after 90 days.
This is a stable, full-time position with predictable weekday hours. Our warehouse is clean, organized, and professionally operated. Additional hours are paid as straight-time overtime. There are no attendance bonuses or complicated incentive programs; this is a straightforward salary position with the opportunity to build a long-term career.
