As a Cost Specialist at QISG, you’ll be the financial pulse of the project—keeping costs on track, spotting trends before they become problems, and helping the team make smart decisions. You’ll manage budgets, track actuals, analyze variances, build forecasts, and turn project data into clear insights for leadership. Your work will help drive the successful delivery of large-scale utility, power generation, and renewable energy EPC projects across North America—projects that power what’s next.

What You'll Do

  • Own and monitor project costs for large-scale EPC energy and utility projects, including transmission, substations, renewables, and power generation.
  • Track budgets, actual costs, forecasts, and trends across complex, multi-year projects.
  • Develop and maintain EAC and ETC forecasts to keep projects financially on track.
  • Apply EVM principles, including CPI/SPI, to identify cost and schedule variances and help the team stay ahead of issues.
  • Spot cost risks and trends early and work with Project Managers and leadership to address them.
  • Support change management, including change orders, budget transfers, and cost impact analysis.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Operations, and technical teams to connect project execution with financial performance.
  • Build clear cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts that give leadership the information they need to make decisions.
  • Support Project Controls Execution Plans and maintain compliance with QISG processes and standards.
  • Use tools such as JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI to track, analyze, and report project costs.
  • Be a go-to cost controls partner for your projects while helping improve processes and project controls practices.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of project cost control, job costing, or project controls experience within EPC, construction, utilities, or energy/infrastructure projects

  • Hands-on expertise in cost forecasting, budget control, change management, and cost/risk analysis

  • Experience in project-based environments (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or EcoSys, Procore preferred

  • Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience

  • Willing to travel up to 10% domestically

  • Generous PTO & paid holidays to maintain work-life balance

  • 401(k) with a generous match to plan for your future
