Description

This position exists to support the credit union’s financial accounting function by preparing accurate financial statements and performing the reconciliations necessary to ensure proper reporting and compliance. This role involves a wide range of advanced accounting responsibilities, along with providing exceptional service to team members by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and connecting them with the right resources to meet their needs.

Requirements

Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience.


Education: A high school education or GED.


Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.


Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of bank technology platforms required. Advanced knowledge of Spectrum, BranchSuite, Prism and Prologue preferred.
  • Advanced skillset in Excel, Word, and the use of web and web-based application.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of governmental regulations for financial institutions
  • Very strong knowledge of products offered by Alabama Credit Union

Other Skills:

  • Ability to write effectively in English using correct spelling and grammar, including reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change

Physical Requirements: During the course of a normal workday, incumbents will sit, stand, walk, see, hear, reach, use gross and fine motor coordination for activities such as using standard office machines, using paper (to include counting cash, sorting and filling paper items, etc.), and occasionally lift and carry incidental items such as supplies.
