What You'll Do As a Service/Diesel Technician, you'll inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of construction and rental equipment, ensuring every machine leaves our shop ready to perform safely and reliably. Your responsibilities will include: Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues on diesel-powered equipment.  Repair, rebuild, and replace engines, fuel systems, hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, final drives, electrical components, and related systems- with a primary focus on diesel-powered equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment check-in procedures.  Complete pre-delivery inspections to ensure equipment is customer-ready.  Accurately document repairs, diagnostics, work orders, parts usage, and labor hours.  Utilize manufacturer service software and diagnostic tools.  Follow manufacturer specifications and company repair standards to ensure high-quality workmanship.  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.  Build positive relationships with customers by providing professional, dependable service.  Work closely with teammates to keep equipment repaired efficiently and minimize customer downtime.  Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Manager.  Exemplify the Total Equipment Core Values: Teamwork, Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Customer First.  What You Bring We're looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical problems and takes pride in fixing equipment the right way. QualificationsQualifications include: Experience repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and compact construction equipment.  Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues independently.  Experience operating heavy equipment safely.  Basic computer skills and the ability to use electronic service software.  Strong communication and customer service skills.  Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.  Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.  Education & Experience Associate degree or technical certification in Diesel Technology or a related field preferred.  2–5 years of experience repairing diesel-powered construction or heavy equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Physical Requirements This is a hands-on position requiring the ability to: Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.  Bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work in a shop environment.  Safely operate tools and repair equipment.  Work around noise, dust, and various shop conditions while following all safety procedures.
