Account/Project Support Specialist I

Position Overview

1 Resource Group is seeking an experienced and highly organized Account/Project Support Specialist I to support customer accounts, project operations, logistics, and service delivery.

This position works directly with customers, contractors, vendors, carriers, and internal teams to ensure equipment, tools, materials, and services are coordinated efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver who can manage multiple priorities, make sound decisions independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The Account/Project Support Specialist I will coordinate services for contractors and customers at various locations and may also assist with training other members of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor contracts, customer orders, and work orders to ensure accuracy and contract compliance.
  • Communicate and negotiate with carriers, vendors, and customers to obtain competitive pricing while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Research and locate equipment, tools, materials, or other resources requested by customers when items are not currently in stock.
  • Coordinate logistics to move requested equipment and materials from their current location to the customer as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.
  • Track deliveries, transfers, orders, and other project-related logistics.
  • Monitor work orders, contracts, invoices, and billings to ensure all records are accurate and reconciled.
  • Identify operational or customer service issues and independently recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Analyze problems of varying complexity and make recommendations consistent with project and organizational objectives.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple projects and assignments while meeting established deadlines.
  • Plan and manage daily work assignments with limited supervision.
  • Carry out additional assignments and priorities established by management.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, contractors, vendors, coworkers, and management.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support 1 Resource Group's Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist with training or supporting other department team members as needed.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Travel occasionally for business-related needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements

Candidates should meet one of the following:

  • Accredited two-year technical or business degree with at least six years of related work experience, or
  • A combination of education and related work experience totaling approximately eight years.

Experience in customer service, logistics, construction equipment, industrial equipment, tool rental, project support, or a related industry is strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Industrial, construction, equipment, or tooling knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when resolving customer, logistics, and operational issues.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Ability to learn and apply job-related technical knowledge.
  • Ability to understand and follow applicable local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Customer-focused attitude with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
Preferred Certifications

Relevant accounting, business, logistics, or industry-related certifications are preferred but not required.

Physical Demands

The employee may frequently be required to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, and drive.
  • Reach, stoop, push, pull, handle, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Communicate verbally and hear effectively.
  • Demonstrate appropriate eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Perform computer-based work requiring close vision and attention to detail.

This position may require working at a fast pace to meet customer and project deadlines.

Work Environment

The position is primarily performed in a professional indoor office environment. However, occasional visits to industrial, construction, production, warehouse, or manufacturing environments may be required.

During these visits, employees may be exposed to:

  • Moving mechanical equipment.
  • Fumes or airborne particles.
  • Elevated noise levels.
  • Heat, humidity, and temperature changes.

Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, or other required equipment, must be worn when entering designated work areas.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be required for customer, project, or other business-related matters.
