Fox News Digital is looking for a full-time SEO/AEO Editor to join the team! You will play a key role in growing the visibility of FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com across traditional search and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms. This role will optimize written and video content for search engines, answer engines and AI experiences while identifying new opportunities as audience discovery continues to evolve.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in SEO and is eager to apply those skills to the rapidly evolving AEO landscape. You should be able to quickly evaluate content and identify opportunities to improve its visibility across Google Search, Google News, Google Discover, AI Overviews, LLMs and other emerging search experiences. You should also be comfortable working across breaking news and evergreen coverage spanning politics, U.S., world, business, entertainment, lifestyle, sports and other major news categories.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Optimize published and unpublished written and video content for SEO and AEO, increasing visibility across traditional search and emerging AI-powered platforms
Evaluate content and identify optimization opportunities across headlines, metadata, keywords and entities, internal linking, content structure, images, video and other on-page elements
Research how content is surfaced, cited and summarized across search engines, AI Overviews, LLMs and other answer engines
Conduct keyword, competitor, search trend and AI visibility research to identify breaking news, evergreen and emerging content opportunities
Pitch trending topics and SEO/AEO-driven content opportunities to editorial teams
Monitor performance across traditional and AI search and use data to recommend optimizations to existing and future coverage
Assist management with content strategies, competitive analysis, data analysis and tracking SEO/AEO KPIs and performance metrics
Partner with editorial teams across verticals to provide actionable SEO/AEO recommendations during meetings and newsroom discussions
Educate editorial teams on evolving SEO and AEO best practices through formal trainings and ongoing newsroom support
Stay informed on changes across Google Search, Google News, Google Discover, AI Overviews, LLM citations and the broader search and AI landscape
Test emerging AEO strategies and identify opportunities to increase FOX content visibility and citations across AI-powered experiences
Explore opportunities to use AI and automation to make SEO/AEO workflows faster and more efficient while maintaining strong editorial judgment, accuracy and human oversight
Develop optimization strategies for both written and video content as search and AI platforms increasingly surface multimodal results
Support management and peers with projects to ensure daily, weekly and monthly goals are met
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
SEO experience at an organization, publisher or brand, with an interest in expanding into AEO and AI search
Strong understanding of on-page SEO and the ability to independently identify optimization opportunities
Understanding of how content structure, entities, authority, relevance and technical accessibility can influence visibility across traditional and AI-powered search experiences
Working knowledge of technical SEO concepts and how technical factors affect crawling, indexing and search visibility; deep technical SEO expertise is not required
Familiarity with emerging AEO concepts, including AI Overviews, LLM citations and how answer engines discover, interpret and cite publisher content
Understanding of search engine ranking factors, algorithms and the relationship between content, technical and off-page SEO
Experience developing and optimizing breaking news and evergreen content
Experience conducting keyword research, competitive analysis and search trend analysis
Experience tracking and interpreting SEO KPIs and search performance data, with an interest in developing measurement frameworks for AI visibility and citations
Familiarity with SEO, analytics and competitive intelligence platforms such as Google Trends, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Similarweb, Botify, BrightEdge, NewzDash, Trisolute News Dashboard, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or similar tools
Strong understanding of SEO/AEO terminology and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for editorial teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting recommendations and leading trainings
Strong SEO writing and editing skills across different search result types and content formats
Curiosity about emerging AI technology and its impact on search, audience discovery, content optimization and newsroom workflows
Interest in testing and learning as AEO best practices, platforms and measurement continue to evolve
Interest in optimizing both written and video content for search and AI visibility
Broad knowledge of and interest in politics, U.S. news, world news, business, entertainment, lifestyle, sports and other major news categories
Ability to stay current on SEO, AEO and AI developments and translate industry changes into newsroom opportunities
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom
Organized, detail-oriented, reliable and comfortable adapting quickly as news, search platforms and priorities shift
A Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $83,000.00-91,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $69,100.00-75,800.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
