POSITION SPECIFICS​

The Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) seeks aĀ Performing Arts Operations Specialist SupervisorĀ toĀ provideĀ leadership for CPA’s accessibility services, volunteer engagement, and front-of-house staffing systems in support of a welcoming, inclusive, and relationship-centered participant experience.Ā 

Ā 

TheĀ Performing Arts Operations Specialist SupervisorĀ willĀ develop and manage accessibility programs and a volunteer engagement model that moves beyond transactional service exchange to build meaningful connections among donors, alumni, students, artists, and community members.Ā 

Ā 

The person in this roleĀ will champion accessibility, inclusive hospitality, and community engagement, collaborating with campus and community partners to create exceptional experiences for all audiences.Ā 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Ā 

AccessibilityĀ ServicesĀ & InclusionĀ EngagementĀ 

  • Lead accessibility services and accommodations for audiences and participants.Ā 

  • Serve as the primary contact for accessibility requests and concerns.Ā 

  • Promote accessibility best practices through training, partnerships, and continuous improvement.Ā 

Ā 

Volunteer Engagement & StewardshipĀ 

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and recognize volunteers and front-of-house staff.Ā 

  • Develop meaningful volunteer experiences that support engagement, hospitality, and student success.Ā 

  • Build relationships that strengthen volunteer participation and community connections.Ā 

Ā 

Front-of-House Operations & Guest ServicesĀ 

  • Manage front-of-house operations to ensure exceptional service, safety, and accessibility.Ā 

  • Coordinate staffing and oversee event-day audience services and issue resolution.Ā 

  • Support ticketing, concessions, and related patron service functions as needed.Ā 

Ā 

Administration & Strategic SupportĀ 

  • Manage budgets, records, policies, procedures, and training resources.Ā 

  • Track program outcomes and use feedback and data to improve services.Ā 

  • Support grant reporting, stewardship efforts, and strategic initiatives.Ā 

Ā 

Professional DevelopmentĀ 

  • MaintainĀ expertiseĀ in accessibility, volunteer engagement, and audience services.Ā 

  • Apply best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Ā

Important Note:Ā Due to theĀ nature of this roleĀ and theĀ schedule of events, theĀ Performing Arts Operations Specialist SupervisorĀ willĀ be requiredĀ toĀ frequentlyĀ work evenings and occasionallyĀ work weekend hours.Ā 

Work hours within the typical Monday through Friday schedule will be flexed accordingly.Ā

Qualifications:Ā 

Required Qualifications:Ā 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; inclusive and respectful when working with othersĀ 

  • Excellent organizational skillsĀ with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlinesĀ 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholdersĀ 

  • Experience managing volunteer programs, accessibility services, audience engagement initiatives, or related programs Ā 

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, ADA compliance, and inclusive customer service practices

  • Customer service focused, with the ability to navigate complex situations, resolve conflicts, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated success building andĀ maintainingĀ productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders

  • ExcellentĀ problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise judgment in addressing challenges and service needsĀ

It is also preferred that candidates have one or more of the following qualifications:Ā 

  • Supervisory, program management, or leadership experienceĀ 

  • Experience with donor stewardship, alumni engagement, volunteer management, community engagement, or constituent relations in higher education, nonprofit, or cultural organizationsĀ 

  • Experience overseeing front-of-house operations, eventĀ logistics, or audience servicesĀ 

  • Experience using data, assessment, and participant feedback to evaluate programs and drive continuous improvementĀ 

  • Experience with accessible event planning and assistive technologiesĀ

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree
3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Required Certifications:

Successful completion ofĀ ResponsibleĀ Alcohol Management Program (RAMP), CPR/AED, andĀ KultureCityĀ Sensory Inclusive training isĀ requiredĀ as part of the onboarding process.Ā
