The Quality Control Manager leads all inspection, verification, and product conformance activities within an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment. This role oversees daily quality control operations, drives customer and supplier quality performance, and develops a strong, high-performing quality control team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits
  • Manage document control and quality records
  • Oversee the Material Review Board (MRB) process
  • Lead containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification activities
  • Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities
  • Ensure calibration compliance, gage control, and testing effectiveness
  • Monitor special processes and product conformance
  • Manage nonconforming material and product control processes
  • Support domestic customers and domestic product quality performance
  • Analyze and report quality metrics including FPY, DPPM, audit results, and nonconformance trends
  • Develop, coach, and lead Quality Inspectors, Technicians, Engineers, and Supervisors
Authority
The Quality Control Manager has authority to:
  • Place product on hold
  • Stop shipments for quality concerns
  • Reject nonconforming material
  • Convene and lead MRB reviews
  • Escalate quality and compliance risks
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, auditing, inspection methods, and corrective action processes
  • Experience with calibration systems, gage control, and quality data analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CMQ/OE, CQA)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
  • Experience in metal fabrication, machining, or assembly manufacturing
