Patient Financial Services Representative

Join Our Team!

Cherry County Hospital & Clinic is seeking a Patient Financial Services Representative to join our Business Office team. This position plays an important role in supporting our patients and ensuring accurate and timely billing, insurance claims, payments, and account management.

What You’ll Do

  • Process and submit electronic insurance claims to third-party payers.
  • Post payments and adjustments accurately to patient accounts.
  • Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing errors.
  • Follow up on outstanding patient and insurance balances.
  • Respond to patient questions regarding bills, insurance claims, and payment options.
  • Obtain insurance information and pre-authorizations when required.
  • Prepare itemized bills, refunds, deposits, and related financial documentation.
  • Work with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient account documentation.
  • Assist with audits, record reviews, and revenue cycle reporting.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable billing regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1–3 years of customer service and/or business office experience preferred, ideally in a medical setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, and other computer systems.
  • Knowledge of medical billing, insurance reimbursement, collections, or hospital accounting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to work accurately in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions.
