1 Resource Group is seeking  AC/DC Motor Repair Mechanic. You will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, rewinding, testing, and reassembling electric motors, generators, pumps, and rotating equipment. This position works directly in the repair shop and supports quality, safety, and production goals while ensuring repairs meet OEM specifications, EASA standards, and customer requirements.

Motor Inspection & Evaluation

  • Perform incoming inspections on AC and DC motors, generators, and related equipment.
  • Document as-found conditions, measurements, and damage.
  • Identify repair requirements and recommend corrective actions.
  • Complete inspection reports and repair documentation.  

Disassembly & Cleaning

  • Safely disassemble motors and generators of various sizes and voltages.
  • Clean components using approved methods including blasting, solvent cleaning, and bake-out processes.
  • Inspect bearings, shafts, housings, laminations, and winding systems.

Mechanical Repair

  • Replace bearings, seals, sleeves, and mechanical components.
  • Perform shaft measurements and alignment checks.
  • Install and fit replacement components.
  • Assist with machining and balancing operations when required.

Electrical Repair

  • Perform stator and armature winding repairs.
  • Install winding RTDs, bearing RTDs, thermistors, space heaters, and grounding devices.
  • Complete lead connections and insulation repairs.
  • Assist with rewind operations including coil installation, lacing, taping, and soldering.

Testing

Perform electrical testing including:

  • Megger testing
  • Polarization Index (PI)
  • Surge testing
  • Resistance testing
  • Hi-Pot testing
  • Growler testing

Additional duties:

  • Assist with no-load and load testing of motors and generators.
  • Verify equipment performance before shipment.

Assembly & Final Inspection

  • Reassemble repaired equipment according to specifications.
  • Verify proper clearances, fits, and alignment.
  • Complete final quality inspections.
  • Prepare equipment for shipment.
