Overview

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Associate to support growth in the federal government market. This role will help identify, track, and qualify new business opportunities across agencies focused on cybersecurity, cloud computing, DevOps, ServiceNow, and enterprise IT modernization.

This is a good opportunity for someone who is early in their business development career and wants to learn federal contracting, capture, proposal support, partner engagement, and pipeline management.

The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and interested in growing within the federal IT services space.

This position will have a base salary + commision

Location

  • Remote in NoVA

  • Some travel will be required

Responsibilities

  • Research federal business opportunities using platforms such as SAM.gov, GovWin, and other bid tracking tools

  • Support the identification and qualification of new opportunities across Civilian, DoD, and Intelligence Community customers

  • Assist with maintaining and updating the company pipeline and opportunity tracking tools

  • Help gather customer, competitor, and teaming partner information to support capture efforts

  • Support proposal activity by helping coordinate inputs for RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, white papers, and capability statements

  • Build familiarity with federal contract vehicles, agency buying patterns, and procurement timelines

  • Coordinate with internal teams to understand company capabilities and align them to customer needs

  • Help identify potential teaming partners, primes, and subcontracting opportunities

  • Attend industry events, agency briefings, and networking meetings as needed

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on opportunity status, research findings, and pipeline activity

  • Support business development outreach through email, calls, meetings, and partner follow up

Qualifications

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in business development, sales, recruiting, capture, proposal support, or government contracting

  • Interest in federal IT services, government procurement, and business development

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to research opportunities, organize information, and track follow up items

  • Comfortable using online tools, databases, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Self motivated and willing to learn in a fast paced small business environment

  • Ability to work well with leadership, technical teams, partners, and customers

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to federal contracting, government sales, recruiting, proposal coordination, or capture support

  • Familiarity with SAM.gov, GovWin, FPDS, USAspending, or similar research tools

  • Interest in cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, ServiceNow, or enterprise IT services

  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce

  • Existing knowledge of agencies such as DoD, DHS, VA, Treasury, or the Intelligence Community

  • Internship, college coursework, or early professional experience related to sales, marketing, communications, business, or government affairs
